Last weekend I shot some pics while working the "longest road race in the world". The 25 Hours of Thunderhill is a 25 hour endurance race on a 3 mile road course. The winning car dorve over 600 laps in the time alotted!!! Over 1800 miles in 25 hours.

Anyways, I stayed up for 36 hours and got to play with my d70 for that time and got some interesting pics. I actually had to do minimal post processing on these pics and I got to be a little more artistic than straight motorsports shots. I really like that Venus showed up in the "dawn" pic. Thanks gang :D

Andrew PS Happy Holidays. Oh yeah, the Red Truck is mine.

Great shots - must have been one helluva day - bit worried about the car with wings and afterburners.

Love the shot of dawn with the car lights.

G'day Atencati,
Looks like you had a big day, would have been a ball... f15_1_25 is a great catch...

Out of curiosity, what lens were you using?

Cheers,
Mudder

surprisingly, in my haste gearing up for this event I managed to forget all of my lenses except the kit lens. All these shots are 18-70. And yes, that f15 is about 100 feet off the deck. He pulled up right after this shot and nearly levelde the grid!!!!!!!

thanks all

Andrew,

Great stuff.

I can remember seeing footage of this event - maybe 12 years ago - while I was living in Modesto. I was in Sacremento for a DSAROC meeting, and this was the evening's activities. Great stuff, with an ever present danger of vehicles falling off the road if the misread a curve. Almost European ....

:)

Thank you for sharing.
