Hi everyone

I own my D70s for about 2 yrs now. It appears there is a black dot on my the CCD, I tried to use the blower to get rid of it numerous time but was unsuccessfuly. (Mirror-lock etc)

I remember someone told me that Nikon offers 1 free CCD cleaning service for all Nikon customers? Does it only apply within the warranty period?

I am thinking to take it to the camera shop to get it clean and service? Can anyone recommend any reputable camera shop in Sydney?

Could anyone offer to help me?

Any help is appreciated!

Thanks in advance

Cheers
Leon

Leon - free cleaning is available in warranty period only.

DIY cleaning kit available on-line from Quality Camera Sales. 2-3 days delivery service:

Edit: also how to do it, plus also read your camera manual.

ok thanks for the link. Problem is I'm not mechanically-minded and quite clumsy with gadgets. What happen if I stuff up my camera?

I prefer to take it to the camera shop to get a professionally clean (yes, and get ripped off!) unless someone is willing to help me. :)

Leon - I am not technically minded either, but it is not rocket science. Just follow the steps, and before you know it, you will have a clean sensor. BTW: I have addded to my original post.
