Different size filters, do you use step up rings?

Postby MHD on Tue Sep 21, 2004 9:41 am

I have the kit lens at 67mm and the 70-300 at 62mm

I am going to get a CP very soon (lots of brilliant blue days here atm)...

Now I think I will get a 67mm cp and a 62-67 stepup ring...
anything wrong with that?

only problem is the end element on the telephoto rotates as it zooms (and as far as I remember during focusing as well) so I will need to re rotate the cp before each shot...

Jeeeez... its hard to work on a day like today!

Correct, it's the pain with step up or down ring but there's a saving on another CP filter,
Buy the 67mm, though most new, expensive and popular Nikkor lens form with 67/72/77mm (except the 50/1.4).

I've already got a 77 (fitted the lens hood on my cp5400) so if I get a 72+stepup or 77 it will be cool...

Hmmm might have to go shopping at lunch time (again....)

Banning never works ... Just make it compulsory!
