Useful little Melbourne shop

Postby Greg B on Thu Dec 09, 2004 10:05 pm

Camera Lane, cnr Lt Bourke and Hardware Lane - one of very few places in the Melbourne CBD with a decent supply of stepping rings, and the ability to give me the right one.

Greg,

Visited the shop. Both the owners know their stuff.

Also there is another one on Lonsdale St Between Elizabeth and Queen, called Camera Exchange. Owner is very knowledgable. Both these shops will actually let you try different lenses if you take the d70.

cheers,

Yes ajax, Camera Exchange is good. It was actually them that sent me to the other shop when they didn't have the specific stepping ring I needed.

Gary Stark has sung the praises of Camera Exchange a number of times, and I can see why.

Greg,

Would Hardware Lane be the lane that Camera Exchange is on the corner of? If so, that would make Camera Lane quite close to them, wouldn't it?

Another place to visit when Leigh and I are down there for the GP.

Absolutely correct Gary, two minutes walk from one to the other, and worthwhile to visit another "real" camera/photographic shop :)

Greg,

Many thanx.

Are we going to organise a mini-meet during the GP weekend?

Let me rephrase that slightly:

How about a dinner meet on Lygon Street, Friday March 4?
