Do it yourself! It's not overly hard (at least with the D70), lock up the mirror and use a giottos air rocket to blow the crap out. Most of the time the dust bunnies are just that and will be easy to remove. Just use a little care, but don't worry to much the CCD is covered by a sheet of glass.

That's the problem. I only have the hand blower & it's made it worse.

If you get to Maxwells at Capalaba before midday they will clen it whilst you have a cup of coffee.

John,

Try Anderson Camera Repairs at Capalaba. They offer a one hour service by arrangement (on this page). I've always found them good to deal with so I'm sure they'll come to your rescue if you explain your situation.

Good luck.

EDIT: As per Oneputt's post - Andersons are attached to Maxwells in the same building and I think it's actually the Andersons part of the operation that does the repair and service stuff.

$128 suffering christ!!!!!

You can buy the brushes on Ebay for about $17, I'd be buggered if I'd pay someone that much just to clean the thing!

Thanks guys.

I'm now a very happy customer :D (just a lot poorer).

Great service, & I love the fact that they provide a before & after print of my sensor showing all the dust bunnies. Apart from the ones I could see in my images, there were a bunch of smaller ones I couldn't see, they're gone as well.

Pleased to hear you had a good experience myarhidia. If I remember correctly they once told me they charged about $99 for a clean, which coincided precisely with the moment I decided I'd learn how to do it myself. Still, if you haven't the time nor the expertise, you should at least get what you pay for which, in this instance, seems to be what you've received.
