Hi all

Just wanted to introduce myself as a newish member to the Brisbane/Gold Coast message boards.

I've had my D70s for about two weeks now and apart from when I go to work, there's not a moment I'm out of the house that I don't have it around my neck, just in case.

I've been enjoying the recent storm activity on the Gold Coast and trying to capture lightning strikes without a tripod or remote release. My current kit consists of a Puma sneaker or fence post to steady the camera and setting it to timer.

On the wish list is a tripod (obviously!), remote and 70-300ED zoom.

Welcome to the forum. You'll find lots of great information here, as well as competitions, technical assistance and good old-fashioned fun.

There are a number of Queenslanders (I'm one!) and I'm sure you'll get to know us all in time. We try to arrange meets every couple of months or so, and you would be welcome to join in on any of these. There are a couple on the go currently, try looking here.

In the meantime, enjoy your phootography, and post a couple of pics.
