Welcome.
But your message prompts a question: you say that you'll be
upgrading to a 300D.
Hmmmm ??????

thanks fellas, sorry, as zeeke said, i shoot a 3000 eos, lower end of the scale in the film for eos. Usually shoot birds etc and am on a steep lerning curve with my current lens for this work, 75-300 non is with 2x converter. Bit hard to shoot anything less than 400i and arpeture is not the best, making shooting anything less than full sun a bit hard.
but im learning
cheers

G'day. Welcome to the mob from another newbie. Good vibes here and lots of help for the asking. If you are ever coming near Noosa area drop me a PM or drop in on me at the Toowoomba Ag Show in September. I will have a stand there full of restored historical photo's on the eastern side in the arena.
Let's see some of your work when you are ready?
All the best

Welcome Land-Lubber. Hope to see and hear more on the birds. Thanx for the info on the White-bellied Cuckoo-Shrike - I am just starting to take a few shots of birds and animals as well as learning how to use my D70. Hope you enjoy the digital world when you get your kit.

Hi Land lubber....I grew up in Gatton so I know that neck of the woods very well. But I tend to not go back very often....by choice anyway....only when the family demands it.

hi gang
just found this place - in a maze of American sites it is so good to see Aussie-speak for a change!
just got a D200 after a 10yr layoff from a darkroom and photography in general - ever hear of Rip van Winkel?
here I am - old but innocent! teach me please
hey! I have tried Adobe Lightroom beta 3, Bibble (see Nikonians site), Capture NX (which is funny on an Intel MacBook Pro) and Aperture 1.1.2 - settled on Aperture for the moment. Interested in your comments.
Dan
Nikkormat Ftn - Nikon FE - Nikon F801 - 28mm f3.5 Ais - 35mm f2 AF - 55mm f3.5 Ais micro-Nikkor - 85mm f2 Ais - 135mm f3.5 Ais - 70-210 f4-5.6 AF - and now ...... D200! with no DX! .... yet
