G'day from Cedar GroveG'day everyone. I discovered this BB by accident and have been lurking here for a few weeks so thought it was time to register and introduce myself. I've been taking snaps since I was 10 years old and received a Kodak Box Brownie for my birthday (that should give you some idea of my age!). Recently decided that I wanted to become slightly more serious about photography and take photographs rather than snaps so I upgraded to DSLR. Happy to be here and looking forward to hearing from some other users and perhaps posting a few images soon.

Re: G'day from Cedar GroveWelcome to the club Cliff, just what we need, another junior ankle biter
I mustn't be too far behind you, my first camera was a kodak instamatic with the box cube disposable flashes. __________

Re: G'day from Cedar GroveWelcome Cliff. From my calculations you must be at least 108 seeing as the BB was released in February 1900

Pretty close it was a 620-C (1946-53) so I'm slightly younger. Thanks for the welcome Chris and Phillip Cliff

Re: G'day from Cedar GroveHi Cliff - welcome to the forum
Sooner or later we'll organise a minimeet, and you'll have to come along - but until then, would love to see some photos Rel Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams

Re: G'day from Cedar GroveWelcome Cliff. Enjoy your time on the forum! They tell me the instruction manual for the Brownie Box camera ran to 3 pages. Dang...I could handle that!

Re: G'day from Cedar Grove
I'm with you on that Matt. K Welcome Cliff, My dad gave me a BB when I was a kid, still got it, case and all. Just went looking for the serial number, mine has not got one, it say's inside the back hatch to use Kodak 620 film. Where on camera is youre serial number? Fred.
Re: G'day from Cedar Grove
Fred, that's not a serial number, it's a model number. I don't still have the original camera but I do remember that it was a Model C because I always wanted a Model D which had a "close-up" function - very sophisticated. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome. Cliff

Re: G'day from Cedar Grove
Well there you go Cliff, I've got the close up function, thats a high tech bit of gear for sure. Dad's been gone for 10 years now, but damn, he certainly planted a seed with that gift.

Re: G'day from Cedar GroveHi
Im at Cedar Vale so even closer. I think there are a few locals on here. I have a box brownie too that my mother got off my grandfather. She wanted my cousin to have it and now that she is gone was going to take it down there next week when I go to take new born shots of her new baby. Do u think I should be hanging onto it? Thanks heaps Littlesprocket
Re: G'day from Cedar GroveG'day Littlesprocket, You certainly are close - just across the highway. I'd hang on to that Brownie it might be worth something one day. Sorry for the late reply but I've been travelling for the last month - just arrived home today.
