Ok part one is closed!
I just signed the lease on a new rental place so I am going mad... so it may take a day for me to open part 2...
Over the course of the day I will reveal the entries for part 1 (but not the owners of course )
WELL DONE EVERYONE! I am blown away at the quantity and quality of entries!

Very impressive line up of images there. I think round two is going to be even more creative/diverse because of them.
Excellent work everyone.

WOW,
The bar is well and truly raised, the challenge has been made, everyone is going to have to be really innovative for the next round.
Good luck.

Incredible standard. I've really got to get back on my horse and try harder for round 2.
I hope the problem with some of the images not opening can be fixed soon.

Good stuff. It won't be easy to get into top 10 at all.
Are there any prises for bottom five?

there seem to be several there which do not comply with the EXIF rules - some don't have sufficient, one at least still has a name attached.

I don't seem to be able to read EXIF data on any of the pix in Scott's gallery with iExif. iExif seems to be working on this forum.
Does anyone have an explanation for why this would be so?

Trevor, check that you are trying to view the exif from the largest photo, not just the thumbnail. You might have to click on an image twice to get it to it's largest size.

Well, when I check they may be disqaulified... (that is the way the cookie crumbles I'm afraid)

Clicking on [photo properties] on the medium view will give you a abreviated exif

Disqualification may be a bit harsh Scott... Especially for this competition... People have submitted shots before that didn't have exif, but if they proved that it was taken on a DSLR - you've accepted it in the past...
As for the one with the name attached... that's unfortunate and I'm sure we can all forget if we saw it...
Many of the others are just as easy to guess as well (if you look at the camera type and have been paying attention in the Image Critiques section)...

i know that individual interpretation of a given theme is highly subjective but this is one of the few comps where i think the vast majority of entries have hit the mark.
some very nice captures depicting movement, well done.

Ok Lets be entirely clear here...
To me what is important is what is shown up on the [photo properies] link on the comp page...
others may differ and can argue thier case to me..
If some one is keen enough to download the full size image and run it through an deep exif header grabber well... then...
Now I need peoples help with this, I am moving into a new place this week and am very busy, could the owners of images which they think are not valid PM me the title of the image (or even better a hyperlink)
To repeat, dont be overly worried if there is an identifying feature buried way down in the exif of the file, what is important is what shows up when you click [photo properties]

Hi mate. As this is my first comp entered, I followed the instructions which did say to verify exif data using the photo properties option in the dropdown box. I wouldn't know if there was any other info in my shot, but according to the properties it is all good. And I agree that is all that should matter.

Not after the comp has closed I am afraid...
However you can still enter in round 2 (just not the same image)

I think all members and entrants should be aware that one unlucky soul has already been disqualified from part 1 (he or she is free to enter part 2) for having their details in the comment section. This is easy to check when you look at your image in Nikon View or run a program like Iexif or similar over it. Please check, as Scott cant with the huge volume of entries and it would be a shame to have anyone else miss out.
