For those who are a little less sure of the proccess of uploading or who are worried something may go wrong with the process I strongly encourage you to upload today so I can sort out any problems that may occur.
I am relaxing the rules on complete headers somewhat, may people are missing vital info as many people just stripped the header off... That is ok for this comp... I suggest that people (maybe a topic at the next meet) find ways to extract/edit and manipulate header info for future events
So here is how it will go from here:
Absolute final cut off for submitting images: Tommorow night at 7pm
*NOTE*
This is independant of any problems at my end or yours please take this into account if you are submitting at the last minute
*/NOTE*
Voting will start by the next morning
Voting will close at 9am decemer the 3rd..
you all then have a week to chat and guess at the winner until it is announced at the Xmas party on the 10th and on the web the next day on the 11th
When choosing a photo to submit remember the Theme...

Can we reveal which photo we sent in once voting is closed?
also
Ha!- if the comp is anononymous - what if we all fibbed about which photo we submitted?
How would anyone know who speaketh the truth and who speaketh with forked tongue?
Thanks for the hosting - you are doing a great job!
Cheers
Graham

Above you mentioned some things about headers etc. I for one wouldn't know if I did something wrong or not (I think my pathetic abilities with working and posting photos through a computer are quite public now) so if someone did do something wrong with headers or Exif data or something, would you send them a message telling them as such? Are we safe to assume that if you haven't said anything that we did it all right?

your entry is fine!
Click photo properties and if there is anything in that pop up window that identifies the photo as yours your entry may be judged invalid..

when you say fine, do you mean totally awesome? Because I would definitly agree!
Fine= A lovely mediterranean women walking along the beaches of Rio, a warm summer breeze blows her hair, and everyone can't help but stare.
I believe this is the context you used fine in, and I appreciate the compliment, but the competition is stiff!

There's no need for you to go to Europe dooda, surely there's plenty of FINE Canadian girls.

Does the EXIF matter, so long as it has the date and time in it?
Posted:
Mon Nov 29, 2004 9:19 pm

not this time...
What I will be looking for (even though those whith the know how can fake them)
is:
Camera make
and
capture date
But I am not overly perterbed by this one as all most people could do to remove copyright tags was to strip the header...
What I will do in future challenges is to
modify the software to not display that tag...

Or recommend people download and use the free exif editor Exifer:

er, I mean, the beaches of southern France...ah what does it matter, as long as she's hot and on the beach and the friggin wind blows through her hair.

I'm trying to figure out my vote and it's sorta tricky.
There are a lot of fantastic photos there, however I'm torn between voting for the best photo that has nature, or the best photo that conforms to the topic. They all are nature, but some of the photos embody the topic a little better and not as exciting; where some photos are truly magnificent, don't embody the topic as well. I'd be interested in others' take on this.
I'm leaning towards the best photo that really defines the topic on multiple levels. Was I not supposed to say this in the interest of keeping the voting objective? If so, please disregard.

I must say, this comp has made me think.
When I first seen the topic I thought no probs, until I sat & thought about it “not as easy as first thought”
One thing the comp has shown; there’s some very talented people in this community & to me that's the winner by far
Good luck all
Cheers

30, or 13 more than the last challenge!

hmmmm... this may be a big task... but i think it may be nice... how about at the end of the comp, some of the more learned photographers out there ( you know who you are ) do a critique of the top 10 shots? that way it shows people what to look for in a shot, and what other people think is good/not right with a shot? It would be too much to ask for a critique of 30+ shots, but top 10 might be helpful?
just an idea...

Yeah, like a "this is why this photo works" type of thing. I suppose we already sort of do it with random postings.
I wouldn't mind hearing the stories behind the different photos as well(time, place, how long they waited, serendipitous or planned, photoshop strategy, vision, apocalypse etc). And even some of the shots that they almost chose to go in the comp but didn't, and why they decided on that.
As well, I know that many (myself included) wanted a particular shot but couldn't get the right conditions. It would be fun to see those posts on here as well.

I hope people feel free to do this using the leave comments system..
There are lots of possibilities for the images on the two challenges now...
Some one has mentioned a calender, another possibility is a gallery here..
Just as an aside I hit record traffic for my site yesterday!
And the hits to the challenge 2 site is already above that to the challenge 1 site!

MHD, maybe we can arrange a critique of the three winners?
Posted:

Sure, by whom though?
Perhaps they could critique each others work (so 2 per image in the top three)
Or I could call for people who gave it a certain score to critique it (ie someone who gave it top and bottom marks)

Guys, sorry for this dumb question.
I can't seem to find where you've loaded these photos, nor where to vote for them (although it'd be great to see them
before I vote...)

It was a little tricky to vote. You have to click on the gallery button on the front page, then find a login button. As soon as you login the voting option for the comp comes up. This was atleast how I found it. I could be doing it the hard way.
