In case you hadn't notice, the (southern) summer solstice is almost upon us. The firghtening thought about that is that, once this event passes, the number of daylight hours available, per day, will start to decrease.
Yes, already, even!
So, for the next two weeks, we are faced with the maximum possible number of daylight hours per day available to us. To celebrate this, and as suggested by someone over the weekend, I believe that it's time to have a 'tween-challenge exercise.
The theme is .... (cue Backdraft music, cue three Iron D70's dressed in French, Japanese and Chinese chefs' outfits, cue some Japanese actor trying to bite an Astone CF card) ...
Wait for it ...

Daylight.
How you interpret this theme is entirely up to you.
Let's see daylight between now and the end of the year!

As long as Windows is still running, yep, that would be it.

Gary, your post makes me feel like suing Maxwells for the hour of daylight I am losing while my D70 is with them

Kewl theme, very fitting too. Although it might be biased against our northern hemisphere fellows, dooda especially. As if he's not punished enough living in Canada...

I know that was a joke, but I have to say it anyway...
The only country I would live in other than Australia is Canada

Damn! How did I miss this lovely thread?!!! Must have snuck in and out while in one of my miserable moans while lamenting the complete excess of the most morose (sp?) melancholy depressing light ever. We don't call it light, we call it cascading drudgery. It hasn't even snowed in a long time so I don't have the benefit of light reflection. Here in Squamish we have wall to wall mountains on three sides. It's completely black by 5pm, and hopelessly grimm by 330p...I...I can't... (the sounds of my pathetic sobs diminishing over a sad and lonely violin). When the sun does come out you can here us all hissing at it like vampires. My posts for this will be the anti challenge, celebrating the winter solstice's lack of daylight. Or maybe I'm just too late.
That makes me seriously glad that you folks would go for Canada. I lived in France and the US as well, it just doesn't compare to Vancouver Canada. There are a ton, a TON of Australians in the Sea to Sky Corridor. It's become local culture to hear the accents every where you go in Whistler. Their are jokes and references to it in most locally produced plays and films. For some reason Australians travel the world a lot more freely than the rest of us. I wonder why that is?
My brother served a mission in Melbourne Australia, I think I'm going to suggest to him that he and I cruise over there for a visit sometime in the next year or two.

It finished on Thursday dooda.
And I think the madness of the xmas lead up might have resulted in a good idea not really getting off the launch pad.
Anybody have a different view?
