Hawkes Nest - any ideas on places to shoot

Hi all,

Have decided that I am going to take off once a month on a road trip to somewhere in NSW and go on a shooting spree.

Tomorrow I am going to drive to (and around) Hawkes Nest; start out somewhere not too far from home (glenhaven). Haven't been there before so if anyone has ideas on where some good spots are, i would be very thankful :D

Ree

When you say "shooting spree" perhaps we should include "photographic" to alleviate any community safety concerns. :D

:P he he he
the last time I used a gun (my friends shoot steek) I had to ask them if I hit the targget as I couldnt even see that (eyes closed you see). So I am SOOOO sure even if (when) I flip and go on a 'shooting spree' nearly EVERYONE (that I was trying to get) would be SAFE

Not that long ago there was a "photographic-shooting mini meet" in that area, if you do a search on the forum for Hawkes Nest, (I think Tea Gardens as well) you should find some ideas and members photos too.

Some of my photo's from the meet are here.

Suggested areas include Myall Lakes National Park and the foreshore areas around Tea Gardens.

Hi Ree,

Have a look at the link:
http://www.walkabout.com.au/locations/N ... Nest.shtml

Also stop in at the visitors centre in Tea Gardens, just before the bridge to Hawkes Nest, they have lots of info.

As Daniel said, the extra drive to Myall Lakes Nat Park is well worth it.

In Hawkes Nest, Yacaaba Head walk is worth it on a nice day.

Along Jimmy's Beach is nice, looking back at Nelson Bay. It is also nice there on the river side as well.

EDIT: Ree, also saw your beagle :-). Hawkes Nest and Tea Gardens is also extremely pet friendly, lots of places to rent that you can take your dog with you. Have a look at Tea Gardens RE, they have a number of accomodations.

Have fun,

Thanks All.

Had a great drive, decided to go that extra mile and drive the Myall Lakes only problem was I ended up at Taree

Had a great day...bit stuffed when I did finally make it back home.

Chris (my hubby) was shocked that I drove for 7hrs by myself!
Haven't done that in yrs (normally we fly). Must start doing that again.

Thanks for your tips and ideas... will post some photos soon...
