How is this going to be? I have never attended a race or race circuit before so I know nothing much about it. How much does it cost to start off with?

Tho I'm interested in, but I have no car to drive to the place

YiP,

There are regular train services to Lithgow, and then you can catch a coach to Bathurst. However, Bathurst is not a great place for public transport. You can take a cab to the track which is quite close to the city centre, or if you're energetic you can walk, maybe half hour. Just start going south on William St and keep walking!

Sounds like a man who's made this trip before.

YiP, if you want to come up on the train for the day, I should be able to pick you up from the station, and drop you back there. Saves you the walk.

The racing should be good. I don't yet know what the off track stuff will be like, but it seems there is a full racing program anyway. If it's your first time to the Mount to watch a race, I suggest catching the bus to the top of the Mount. At this festival the crowds are generally much smaller and better behaved than the V8s.

A bit of off-topic history: Bathurst (actually Kelso) was proclaimed a place by Governor Macquarie in 1815. My G-G-Grandfather moved there in 1818 as one of the original 10 land grant holders so we know the place reasonably well... :)

How do you apply for media? 8)

Kyle, follow the link to the BIMF website and click on 'media'.

You will need to have either a letter from the Editor of who you may be working for, or/and copies of your previously published work.

Hope to see you there! :D

Will you be down at the pits or track side with media pass? I dont have access to apply for a media pass, what to do?

What time will the event finish for the day?

What is difference of the track, and "top of the mount"?

I'll definetly be there all three days. Might go scout some locations on Thursday.

Barry, Sunday is only the one race, Saturday will have all the different catergories if that helps make a difference.
