City2Surf....running with a cameraHey Girls and Guys,
I will be running (and walking) the City 2 Surf again this year. Last year I took my trusty Fuji F100fd and got some interesting photos from the trip. This year I hope to be taking a DSLR, provided my new D60 (factory refurb from the USA) comes in and I manage to scrounge up some more money for a cheap light AF-S lens (I really dont like the idea of running with the 24-70 f/2.. Just wondering if anyone else will be participating and/or planning to attend the event? I will be starting with the Blue group but if there are people in the Yellow I will be quite happy to drop back and enjoy the company. Let me know if you are running and maybe we can run together. ALSO if anyone has a cheap AF-S lens (18-55, 18-55VR) that they want to get rid of PM me.... Cameron

Re: City2Surf....running with a cameraI've always had this question in my mind. Can you harm a camera by running long distances with it? Is it worse if you have IS/VR activated on the lens?
Re: City2Surf....running with a cameraI dont think that will be an issue, if you turn off the camera whilst you are running.....I have never thought of it that way though. Not sure about VR/IS being ruined by long distance running though.

Re: City2Surf....running with a cameraI don't think you can harm it. I used to run with the cameras in my hand when I was doing the odd protest or sports photography gig.
I might run in it. Or walk very slowly. Producer & Editor @ GadgetGuy.com.au
