Due to the raging sucess of the Whale beach sunrise shoot I am doing it all again next weekend - if anyone is kicking around drop a post and/or PM me.

Exact details to be worked out depending on interest, but it will be saturday and a 0530 start

Forecast at this stage is for fine weather but the tide will be dead low.
Might need to check out some other spots rather than the Cauldron this time as you definitely need some swell or tide to see it at it's best.

I'd be happy to discover a new beach/location :)

Hmm. This can be good or bad depending on the location. This is where a little bit of local knowledge comes into play...

Gerry,

Now that this date is rapidly approaching, could we lock in a place?

I will be quite keen to attend. We do need to make sure that the tide etc will be in our favour however.

I am definitely locked in for saturday, whether or not anyone else turns up you can be assured I will be there

As Ray mentioned it is definitely low tide for sarturday, 6.28am to be precise, i reckon this could work in my favour depending on teh location, I have not locked in a location but I think Long Reef is looking good, its not too far north and it has a nice big rock shelf that will be exposed due to the low tide, its also a winner due to the fact that a view in any just about direction since will give you unobstructed sea views.

see map here

I am open to suggestions for other locales, really I am not that fussed where, but am just keen to get out some where new..

Also this location would give your new little booties a good work out,...

This is where a little bit of local knowledge comes into play...

pfftt...nothing like blundering into the unknown in pitch darkness...

I might also be persuaded - wife permitting

:rotfl2: just tell her its her special day and she can sleep in for a few extra hours...then you turn up at home with the appropriate takeaway breakfast and coffee and its a win-win scenario...well thats the theory anyway, most well laid plans always collapse...

Long reef it is. The tides may be a tad low for some shots but I am keen anyway.

Sunrise at 6:56, First light at 6:28, blue hour would probably start at 6am or so I guess. PS: I hope you are not done with the eastern suburbs beaches because I haven't even got started. I still need to return to Maroubra!

rofl, nah... i even popped into clovelly the other day before a flight up north - whilst I have time to organise I figure doing these further afar locales that are harder to get to is better use of time..for me anyway..

Are you boys starting out from Newtown? I might join you in Newtown or you can join me in Kensington (or inbetween). We can go one car. [I am happy to drive] Otherwise it will be a long boring drive.

No problem about the lift Cameron, will let you know what time shortly.
Suren, the car pool idea is a good one, I can swing past kenso and pick you up.

highly recommend some form of wet feet gear or at the worst bring second pair of shoes and socks...

being low tide I am keen to get out near the water action and will undoubtly get my feet wet...

This is a must regardless of wet weather gear. It's not nice to have cold toes for the rest of the morning.

Thanks Gerry

Can you also check to see what time the inspector rocks around :)

...and there appears to be 2 carparks ..one just past the clubhouse and another a bit further along that I'm calling #2...where "Long Reef" appears on the Google map. I'm assuming you are meeting @ #2

You'd be unlucky at 0530am on a Saturday.... It's not like it's Pyrmont or Bondi.

It's not the arrival time that's the issue but rather the departure time

Depends on the sunrise. If there is low clouds, you can get two sunrises for the price of one.

If there are no clouds, it would be game over around 0720 or so.

Fingers crossed that I will be around. Maybe we will do a closer location as the long travels takes chunk of the day.
