Although it's probably going to get washed out, lets try for a late sunrise tomorrow... Meet at 6am.

I have arranged for heaps of clouds but the sun is not replying to my emails so far.

Highly weather dependent...

PM for details...

Sounds good, I like teh idea of rain - we need a location where the water is teh primary focus imo, if there are nice thick clouds about great water scenes and water movement shots are the ticket.

Ray,
It's quite windy as well. We run the risk of getting both fresh and salt water everywhere....

In anycase, there is a window of about a month for late(ish) sunrises and I plan to capitalise on them.... Then we will probably need to switch to sunsets for the summer...

Fair enough. It really was slim pickings today. Will probably delete all images save one. Took only 34 shots in total. Checked out the cafe scene in Bronte though.

Man, I reckon we should be shot, looking back over the images I spotted so many ones that coulda been and shoulda been - I am gonna blame the 3 hours sleep I had....

I would like to see some examples as I only saw a handful of opportunities.

Didn't realise you partied hard the night before! No wonder you had a bit of an appetite...

so would I! unfortunately I definitely did not capitalise on the morning - two things would have made it easy for me...1) less spray / rain and 2) more predictable, lower surf, I was paranoid of getting belted into the pool when on that seaward side!

This is one of the better ones I got - similiar to your other posted one Suren.

and a few others that I have had a chance to address - alot have big loogies due to the waterdroplets on the filter....

Thanks for these Gerry...

I quite like this set and after being there at the time, I can see how these came about. It's nice to see another person's perspective.

#1 is very nice indeed. Did you have to smoothout any ND filter transitions on this one?? [I know you used a hard edge or DID you? ]

#2 is very nice recovery with the stylised look. I do have the same picture but didn't even think to do this. I was of the opinion it lead the eye out of the frame with the edge of the pool.

#3 For me the warmed foreground if difficult to believe but quite eye catching.

#4 I am really loving the tones coming out of the D lighting. It looks like a pseudo HDR with extra contrast. Hmm.... Maybe I'll think about doing a bit of Capture NX at some stage... I wonder whether the nik color efex (Does it have D lighting?] will plug into LR3. [The noise reduction and lens adjustments are a big bonus in LR3 not to mention my whole catalog will be compatible]
