To Vote you must have a d70 log in at the challenge site
you must be logged in to see the album and vote..
So go to
http://potofgrass.ath.cx/gallery log on and go to the challenge site and cast your vote.
*You may vote for your own picture, I suggest you give it the top mark which is a 10
*when voting please consider how well the photo adheres to the theme
Remember you must be logged in to vote and only those with a d70 or D70 username may vote
YOU HAVE UNTIL 9am Wednesday to vote!

Dont forget page 2!!!!!
They need your votes too!
Also so people want the results displayed live?
I have turned off "display results on page" as it might skew the result with the whole underdog sympathy thing
Hmmmm....

Just one question, are we required to cast a vote for every photo or can you only vote for the ones you prefer?

For those who can't get in, go to main website and log in. Then navigate to the d70 challenge page

Can we also encourage people to leave feedback.
The purpose of the challenges are not just to win but also improve our photography. This is best done by constructive critism.

no... but I encourage it!
The final scores are based on the average of the scores so by not voting for an image you are not disadvantaging it

Oh
BTW, I should have explained this better:
The reason why it is hidden from public view to everyone without a d70 log in is because I can set viewing permissions but not voting permissions...
So I just hide it from those I dont want to vote and then they cant vote!
The page will go public again after voting closes...
And will remain there (and members of the public can comment etc..)

It would be interesting to know how many people have voted, to see if this competition is of interest to people other then those who put entries in.

Given that you need to register to participate and/or vote, there may not be many non-participating voters.

At the moment each picture has an average of 11 votes
There are 22 d70 usernames with viewing rights to the album and when you add me thats 23 possible votes

Any chance of a an update/breakdown as to where the votes are going, or is it a surprise until voting closes? The suspense is killing me.

I can get to the site, but I can't get to the D70 challenge, I can only get to the rules section.
Also, is the login and password the exact same as is our login and password on this site?

You need to have previously registered to get in, your user name should be d70dooda and you should have picked a password when you registered.

I get the same problem as Dooda.
I log in as d70killakoala which is fine, i click on the link above for the galleries which works, then click on the D70 Challenges graphic, and i get the rules page, then i click on the 'Splendor of Water' graphic and i get a page unavailable error.
I tried to log in as d70killak but that it says that it is not correct.
Dunno....

Forget Bush or Kerry! Vote in the Challenge...
Voting closes tomorrow morning 9am sharp!
Remember not registering a vote for an image is the same as giving its current mark as it is the average vote that is counted!

Thanks MHD for hosting this.
Re people voting who have not entered - well I didnt enter but I DID vote. My excuse for not entering - well work, kids and general life gets in the way sometimes - but hopefully next time.
Re the photos - some really great shots in there - what a collection of talent!
Congrats to all.
