Some GREAT photos! I dont know why html has put the results way down ... Adds to the suspense I guess (See next post)
Ok I had planned to cut and paste the results in but that does not seem to be working... I will put it in a seperate post!
for full results:
http://potofgrass.ath.cx/gallery/poll_r ... challenge1
And an unexpected result... When I decided to enter the Challenge I did not expect my photo to win... I will hapilly accept any criticism and open all that I can to scrutiny...
However as I picked the first one (well worded the intro) if he will accept it I will pass on the naming rights for the next challenge to second place getter xerubus
Thanks to EVERYONE who participated both in submitting images and votes, as you will not the site has generated reasonable traffic with some photos being viewed over 100 times. The site will now be open again to the public and comments are still encouraged!

It was VERY close in the end!!!
Look at the scores! less than a point between 1 and 8 and a tie for 3rd!
Could you send it to me Birddog?
If he would like I have passed the theme naming rights to Xerubus (2nd place)....

Congratulations MHD, well deserved.
Best thing about the format of this competition is that we now have photos which we would not otherwise have taken. It's all too easy to rehash old photos to fit a subject.
Well done.

Thats the idea!
its great to get a theme and then you wander around looking at things thinking "How do I get this to fit the theme?"
Some stunning shots there... My personal fav was jordanp's photo with the hair and water...

MHD,
I'll post it to you Friday or Monday, am waiting for stock. Email me your PO box again.
When will the second challenge start? and what subject?
Can I have the file of the winning photo, I would like to put it on a Super A3, then frame it, and also put your copyright on it, I'll ask you to sign it at the Xmas Dinner Meet.

Congratulations to to all concerned in this event: competitiors, for the high standard of images submited, MHD, for organising and hosting this part of our activities, and of course to Birddog, for his generosity and support.
And, of coruse, the winners, which apart from the obvious, I have to admit, is this whole community!
