Just came back from 3 weeks holiday and now want to go again? How lucky you're? Where all the photos of the D2x on your trip?

I am over my head with photos, not just mine but Vicky's as well. It will be a while until all of the photo get sorted out
I haven't been to Canberra for a while and it's pretty close so I might pop down for the weekend.

I think it's a small suburb somewhere in NSW. We may have some members from there

Can anyone also recommend a hotel for between AUD150 and AUD300 per night. I've stayed at the Rydges Lakeside and Capital hill before so I'd like to try something different/better.

It would be nice to see some of you guys down in Canberra. I think I will be going to floriade a few times during the month it is on. Will definately try to meet up with you all if you come down. It should be a great festival. My tulips at my house are starting to grow as we speak.

If you're willing to pay the upper end of $150-300, try either Canberra Hyatt (Just down from New Parliament House) or Bentley Serviced Apartments in Forrest (not far from Rydges Capital Hill - on Canberra ave, bit closer to Manuka). Note: if Fed Parliament is in session, you'll need to book a bit ahead for both locations. They fill first. I think the Hyatt may do special rates Tue-Thurs (but bookings may be heavy during Floriade as it is 5-10 Mins walking distance from Floriade).
If you're looking for somewhere in Civic, try Quest Serviced apartments on West Row.

Hi Canberrian,
Is there a BBQ at the mini meet to welcome Sydney members coming down?

Im sure one of us would probably have a house big enuff to hold a "large" bbq, either that or have one at one of the many places on the lake

I live just opposite these apartments and they are very nice. Its a good location and about 25 min stroll to the flower show.
Depending on dates, etc and my availability I might be able to host a BBQ of sorts (if you dont mind the host being under 30 guys...). I have a 5 burner beef master waiting for some action. Someone propose a date.
Im going to put a link to this thread into the Canberra forum so the locals can see it.

Birddog,
I have to ask this question: "does Elvis have the power cable to attach to to the D2X for sensor cleaning?"

The D2x does not need Elvis's power cable or power adapter to clean its CCD.

I needed to find out where the shutter release button was on the camera so I had to use the manual

huynhie,
I have something to read (related to D2x) better than its manual, I don't understand the Japanese language very well
The words I can recongnize are "sushi", "sashimi", "Suzuki" or "Honda"

hmhhh.....
Floriade has to wait until I get back from Holidays.
Last year I went three weekends in a row.
It was always different and always great.
Go several times on different days if you can.
Cheers,

thread bump.
Floriade ends this weekend, last day on Sunday 16th.
I'll be attending on Saturday, probably in the morning around 9-10am for a couple of hours.
Any other Canberra members interested in a disorganised, impromptu micro-meet?
Apologies for the late notice - was going to post this on the weekend, but with site troubles and all... and then forgot about it till just now.
