I will be taking it easy at 'Monarto Zoo' on Sunday. Just arrived home from the Doctor, and it would appear that I need day surgery on my right knee to repair a torn Medial Meniscus. This will be confirmed when I have an x-ray within the next few days. I will be holding off surgery until after Easter. So if you see an 'Old Fellow' hobbling on Sunday it will be me...help .
ta ta for now, fozzie

Moving right along.... is 10AM still the plan?
(Or have I missed something in this ever-expanding thread ) Oh, and Fozzie, if you need a walking stick I'll bring my monopod Cheers What's another word for "thesaurus"?
digitor,
10am is still the plan as far as I know. Please bring the 'Monopod'. After what the x-ray people did to me today, literally turned me inside out, and my response was, holy s.ht . Next appointment is with the surgeon 10am next Monday. Temperature for Sunday: Min 15 Max 27 Fine. Mostly sunny. ta ta for now, fozzie

Ok well i am sort of ready, car is ready to roll, just threw the tripod and monopod in just incase, and batteries charged. I can recharge if need be but i know i wont have to as i can do 2 days at the track without them going flat so yeh all is well. I am heading in the morning sometime and have to take some bike parts back to shop while there.
So might not see me around for few days till i get home, and i will see every one sunday morning. Cheers John BBJ D3,D2x,D70,18-70 kit lens,Sigma 70-200mm F2.8EX HSM,Nikon AF-I 300m F2.8, TC20E 2X

RE: MONARTO ZOO - BUS TOUR
I have just confirmed with 'Monarto Zoo' for a party of 10-15 peolpe for their tour commencing at 1:00pm on Sunday 20 March, 2005 in the name of 'D70Users'. No earlier time was available. Anyway this will allows us the opportunity to meet one another, have a chat, and enjoy an early lunch before taking off. Tour takes approximately 1.5 hours, so for those who need to leave early you will be catered for. I would ask that people attending on Sunday to be prompt, so I can ascertain excatly how many people want to do the 'Bus Tour'. I have stated to 'Monarto Zoo' I would confirm numbers by 10:30am on the day. Unless you would like to add your intentions via this post, together with number/s which will make it easier for me on the day. Edit: My Mobile # is: 0409 695 740 Thank You, Last edited by fozzie on Sat Mar 19, 2005 7:18 am, edited 1 time in total.

This thread will hit 9 pages if we keep at it people , but seriously folks, Fozzie has booked a D70Users tour for 1:00PM, it's all happening at Monarto on Sunday, be there or be square!!!
There will be photo opportunities aplenty for all sorts of interesting creatures, and after that we can take pictures of the animals Fozzie has agreed with the Zoo staff to confirm the numbers for the tour by 10:30AM, so please let Fozzie know via PM (or post here) if you will be arriving after that, so you won't miss out on this exclusive opportunity Cheers What's another word for "thesaurus"?

Not Monarto....But close :-)Hi Guys,
I'm back from my two week stint in Sydney. I was able to get some time off there and visit Taronga zoo and it was really worth it. I'm working my pics to put them on the web so standby, but in the interim and having the zoo bug in my blood at the moment, I visited Adelaide Zoo today and was lucky enough to see the lions feeding. Check it out if you want. http://www.pixspot.com/index.php?cat=10133 Speak soon. Cheers, Mick. P.S Just a thought, but how about a visit to Adelaide's Churches for Adelaide Meet # 3?
mickwhit/Mick,
Look forward to viewing your shots of Taronga Zoo. Looks like you had a great day at Adelaide Zoo. I especially like this one: http://www.pixspot.com/displayimage.php ... 0133&pos=1 'Adelaide Meet #3' - Adelaide Churches is OK by me. Let's see what other people think together with date/s for next meet. fozzie

Lazy Day at Taronga ZooHi Fozzie,
Thanks for the comments on my tiger shot from Adelaide zoo. I quite liked that shot also. I'm learning more and more every time I pickup my camera. Yesterday I was fighting with the exposure all day because in one instance I’m taking a picture in overcast conditions and I set my camera up for it, the very next frame it’s sunny and my shot is overexposed. Ahhhh! I had heaps of fun and I think taking photo's of animals is a very hard technique to grasp because they can be so active and after you set your camera up you may only have one attempt to capture that elusive shot! I'm finding it difficult at times because the subject (and conditions) changes so rapidly. That said, I'm learning heaps, having fun and constantly striving to improve. Everyday, I'm looking... looking around to see what to shoot next. It's like an uncontrollable medical condition Anyway enough of me blabbing, I've uploaded my Taronga pics if you want to check them out. http://www.pixspot.com/index.php?cat=10133 Hope you enjoy. Cheers, Mick
