Oh hell, duh! I have to coach netball in the morning and the afternoon too plus play the night before. Man, I hate sports seasons! I won't be able to make it - forgot all about it until I read Rookie's post.

Hmmm... What time of a morning ? I wonder if I will be able to get up in time... should be over a majority of my jetlag by then... Will ask the trouble and strife and see if I can get a leave pass for a few hours that morning.
So who would be up for breakfast at Pancakes at the Port ? Open from 8am, Mercantile Dock Pt Adelaide, can't miss it just to the east of the light house. One & All usually parked out front.
Cheers

Nearly... I'm about 4 weeks short of 6 months...
But you are right, I blinked and I was told to come home... 5 months literally flew by.
Work decided to restructure their workforce while I was away so I received my "come home" notice a few weeks ago. Just enough time to spend all my pocket money at Ace Photo
I've also taken a new position within the company that will see me travelling to the US & UK more often, so its not all bad news
Cheers

I am in for the breaky..visiting Marvin and the dial up is killing me!!! Fozzie, it has been windy, so we have to wait till tomorrow for the hot air balloons. They tried to get some up last night for a night burn but no real luck.

It was unfortunate about the wind, hope you were not the course of it

I'm giving this one a miss. Have been to Pt. Adelaide a few times in the past two months or so allready (last time being yesterday) and am finding it kind of boring, in particular if there's no special boat visiting or some other attraction.
Such an early start doesn't suit me as someone in their early 20s anyway...

I will see if I can remember to pop down on Saturday and book a table large enough for us and gear. It's popular on Sunday mornings so it won't hurt to book.
I am about to jump on a airplane for the next 27 hours and come home to Australia... so if someone could do a rough head count and post a reply I'll make sure there are enough seats.
Looking forward to finally meeting a few more of our SA brethren, even if I'll be a bit jet-lagged.

Based on previous numbers a table for 8 has been organised at Pancakes at the Port @ 8:30pm sharp. If you can find the lighthouse on Lipson St then look east (to the right facing the water) along the dock and you should spot the place.
It required a bit of fast talking but we will need to be heading out of there by 9:15 am at the latest. They were heavily booked but I managed to sweet talk them into it
See everyone in the morning. Look for a guy with a red tamrac camera bag sitting at a table... I will try to be there at 8:30am sharp.

Had a very leisure morning at the Port today. Started off with breakfast with Matthew, Faith (Mathhew's wife), Scott, BBJ and myself. Big V reported in ill, hope you are feeling better. Then we set about on foot with the serious stuff of shooting
Then to finish up, had a chat over coffee and drinks, gee life is tuff.
Anyway here is some of my shots, taken with D2x + Nikkor 35mm f/2:
And to complete, a customary brick wall, doors and a window:

Fozzie, like the shot of the birkenhead bridge and the door and window looks good too.
BBJ... that was an interesting shot of the CSR building, like the B+W treatment. Not sure about the mug shot, hope we didn't crack the lens.
Will have a crack at mine tomorrow night, got a couple of keepers. Was a great day all things considered... Great to meet some other forum members too... More to follow.
