Adelaide Night Meet?

Anyone up for a night meet?
It's nearly been a year since our last night photography meet in the city. Last time went off well and everyone seemed to enjoy it. Friday night seemed to work well last time.
Anyone interested? Perhaps later this month.

Are you a Port supporter? That's quite soon, for some...
Daniel
, the crows will be around for a while...

Daniel..despite what michaelangelo rucci (= fully paid Advertiser dickhead) says, the Crows will fight on for at least two weeks more than his team will!
Form and injuries are fickle things (see my latest post)...so at least we banked enough games for finals when we did have our team on the ground!
Nightshoot?
I have little or no experience with night shots so this would be great.
Hope to do something in second week of October maybe?
cheers

I am in but will be at the 24hr pedal prix on the 15th, 16th of this month, so that weekend is out for me.. The 22nd of this month is new moon and the 8th is full moon. Moon glare gives nasty results to night shots..

This could work for me. I don't do mornings very well, but nights tend to work
. Unfortunately I've just been told I have to spend another 2 weeks in Townsville for work - starting Monday..
Any ideas in particular?

DanielA - I can not commit to anything at night at the moment. I will monitor this post in case my position changes in coming week/s.

Unless the moon happens to be the subject of those shots.
If the new moon is on Saturday 22, wouldn't there be just a slither of a moon visible on the 21st and the 23rd? Just a thought.

Well given the constraints I propose a Friday 20th Oct 2006 meet, starting about 6pm.
22 Oct is the New Moon. Crows would have won the final by then. Sun set is 6:34 pm. You've got six weeks to clear your calendar.
We could start at Lights Vision for shots of the city and hills, then head down to Pinky Flat (War Memorial Drive, opp Convention Centre). Heading to Adelaide Bridge would give us the new fountain and St Peters Cathedral. Any other points of interest?

Would love to be involved in a night shoot (would also like to pick up some tips from the wise elders on sensor cleaning due to the horrific state of mine). Unfortunately my current 2 on 2 off (weeks) roster has me in the middle of Aus on the 20th.

I've only used a blower on mine so far. But I know others here have done wet cleaning.

Sorry to hear that. I'm sure we'll have another meet sometime soon.

Well, I'd be interested but it depends on when it is. Virgs, if we go I'll bring the troops and Pete can look after all the kids.
Fozzie, we must organise another meet to get together. Just started building the pool deck yesterday so the next few weekends are out. Netball nearly finished though. YAY!

Aussie, I have every thursday available for photography, so any time you wish to come to the big smoke, I am more than happy to go out shooting. You could even stay down for an evening of using the telescope!!!

Warren, the date will be Friday
20th Oct 2006, so you have a
month and a half to convince the boss. It's not this month, so more people can attend.

Pinky Flat gives a great night shot of the city. I'm not sure how Light's Vision will go.

Bugger. Just realised you are talking about a Friday. I didn't read carefully enough. Depending on where and what time I will be there. I will be coaching basketball until 7:30 - 8ish and then a good 2 1/2 hours to get there. Might not be worth it. I'll see when I find out what time you guys are meeting.

I suggested a 6pm meet for the 6:34pm sunset. It doesn't sound like it would be worth you coming. Sorry.

Sorry to hear that Nat. Hope you're up at it soon.
Although, have your thought about the very stable properties of a wheelchair for photographic purposes?

Thanks Daniel, but the thought of me controlling a wheel chair at the top of Montefiore Hill scares me - especially at night!!

Easy then. We'll be starting around -34.9127482666, 138.593698675.
Or 54H 280157 6133983 if you prefer.

Nat, hope you get well soon after the op. Now if you do come in a wheelchair, going down the hill would not take long and if we add a couple of sparklers to the chair, we would get a great effect for the shot!!
Aussie, which caravan park are you thinking of? West beach is one of the closest if you wish to stay by the beach but Adelaide caravan park is right near the city..

lol Normal directions will do closer to the time Daniel lol
And big v i havent got that far yet deciding which caravan park
Thinking so far is staying in Adelaide over weekend then up to Monarto zoo monday ,
Stay somewhere up there for a few days looking around the river area up around Manum then up around the riverland a cpl of days then back to Kadina for a 4x4 members 40th birthday campover
Then back to the salt mine !st of November
this is all speculation ofcourse @ this stage except for the night shoot & the 40th birthday campover everything else is subject to change
because of work i have had to cancel a 11 day trip to KI with my 4x4 club in 2 weeks t6ime that i had planned for 12 months but i have told them i am having this week off or i wont make it over summer

Bummer, just saw this thread about Adelaide meet up. It is my sister's 18th birthday, so think I've got to do the sisterly thing and take her out on the town in little old Mt Gambier! Otherwise I'd be at the meet with bells on!
(Although the Friday evening is a bit hard to pull off with the 4 hour drive to get to the city - Saturday will be better for me)
