Hi.
I have the Tamron 18-200mm di II len that I use with my Canon 350D. I have a issue with it that everytime now I connect it to the camera, it give me an "Error 1" message and does not focus. The caused of it could be possible that when I use it other day and it was raining and it could get water damage??? I have tried other lens and my camera work fine. I then tried the Tamron len on my brother Canon 40D and it work ok but only Manual focus not Auto. I google it and it saying something to do with the copper contact point???
The len is no longer under warranty, do you think it be fixed? I'm in Adelaide, where is the best place to get it check out?
Cheers.

Just thought I'd let you guys know that I dropped my lens off with Eden Photographic Repairs today, to fix a problem on my 17-85mm IS lens. The aperture won't adjust when it's changed and Evert said he'd let me know in a week!

I posted my lens to him on Friday, he received it Tuesday and quoted me the same day. I sent approval and money for repair (Rear fixed tube mount was broken and needed replacing), and he completed the job and posted on the same day (he had the spare part in stock).
$150 (inc postage), pretty good deal considering it was also fully checked and recalibrated. Much better to have done this than get a new one or go with nikon... looking forward to getting it back and testing it - will post once more when it is in my hands!
