The next match is on the 6th, a Tuesday evening. Provides some interesting light for sport plus a good night out. 13 gets you through the door. Here are a couple from Sunday night.

Nice shots, did you have any issues getting your gear in? I remember having trouble getting my D300 and a borrowed Tokina 80-400mm into Origin earlier in the year.

Can't you put a 50mm or something small on the body, wrap the longer lens up and put it at the bottom of your bag? It is hard sometimes. At the Gabba, you can only bring in plastic shopping bags. No backpacks, no camera bags, no nuthin....

I presume they give no reason ....

One time in the 80s I turned up to a local Rugby match with a Nikon 50-300mm (very large) lens in case and attached to camera. The bloke on the gate took one look at me and said "Gee, I guess I'd better let you in for free."

Well, not these days, lol

At the Gabba you are allowed a DSLR with up to a 200mm lens. So, you can sneak a TC in too to maybe get to 300mm which will be about 200mm short for cricket photos. Other condition "not be used for commercial purpose" (by the way you could therefore still sell them on your own website based on that definition)

I actually convinced security guy to let me in with my old Sigma 120-300 and TC = perfect !!!!

UNTIL a working tog spotted me, blabbed to a security guy and out I went.

Some people do get stuff past. I was at Origin III this year (when I had trouble getting the Tokina 80-400 in - it is a rather small lens for its focal length) but behind me there was a guy with a Bigma and a monopod!!

I think the attitude at the 20/20 is a bit more relaxed. It says on the tickets no balls play equipment etc etc but there were many kids playing up on the hill. The concept is one of a fun filled 3 hours and everybody seems nice and relaxed. If they do stop me then I would just walk back to the car and put the equipment away - as I have said before, their house their rules but if they continue to let me in with my gear then I will continue to take photos.

Yep.

And to prove just how totally moronic spammers are, consider the effectiveness of an ad that you ight place somewhere, but it contains no contact details for prospective clients to get back to you in order for them to buy your product.

Post removed, spammer banned, and reported to gmail, as that was the working email address they had used. Let them go and get well and truly stuffed!
