I'm sure there will be a few members around.
I plan to be there Saturday. This is the best event of the year.
Has anyone seen the program for the aircraft flyovers? The racing program is on the the Clipsal500 page, but this year I can't see the flight program.

Likely none this year. From a source at the air base at $40,000 per hour it is hard to justify even as a PR exercise this year.
I will be there Friday only this year.
Where are good spots for photos. I have mostly been in the grandstands so able to get photos above the cage.

No, they don't. They're just V8s.
If you want to see fast cars, next weekend, in Melbourne.

Agreed they have nothing on a F1 except that you can see a bit of body movement through the corners. Interesting that as a result of the E85 fuel, they sound different, smell different and produce no flames. The action was still good though and plenty of carnage as machine met machine and or fences. Very large crowd and even bigger for the concerts afterwards - those Presets certainly pull the fans...

Hey Tony, hows things going? I was thinking of going to Clipsal tommorrow, do you have any recommendations on where to stand to avoid fences etc?

Tim, the corner near gate 6 gives the best shots of front on with inside wheel lift and the odd lock up. Most of the other spots are side on or back on except down near hut st corner but you have to work harder with the light as it lights up the fence late in the day..
Here is gate 6 corner shot
Hut st corner shot
from the area near holden heaven
So good shots are possible, just have to walk a little for variation!
Dont forget to look up either..

Thanks for the tips Tony. If I can make it I will definitely check out some of those spots. Looks like the 1d3 is doing well for you to. Nice shots!

Lucky capture Deb. I actually saw one flare from a V8 on TV. But that's the only one I've seen this year.
