Monarto Behind the Scenes tour

I have just been on the "Working with Wildlife" behind the scenes tour at Monarto Zoo. It was a great experience.
We got to hand feed the Black Rhino, White Rhino, Meerkats, Giraffes, Lions and Hyena. (All fingers still intact) And got to pat various Cheetah, Rhino, and Wallaby. I didn't realise there were so many animals not on exhibit.
Hand feeding the Giraffe was a highlight. (both 18mm DX)
Driving around the enclosures in a ute with the windows down is much better than in the cramped buses.
African Painted Dog (200mm DX)
I did get a little close to one of the lionesses when she was eating. She wasn't interested in sharing. (20mm DX)
I'd definitely recommend the tour. It's not the easiest tour to photography, but it's a wonderful experience.
