Autumn is upon us, changing colours. Before you know it, it will be winter, so it is time to get motivated.

Just went through 'Adelaide Meet #3' thread, and xorl suggested the following:

- Belair Natonal Park
- Onkaparinga National Park
- Some other park

If we end up going to a Park, perhaps a BBQ lunch if it permits.

I am open to any suggestions and  .

Fozzie, what about Old Port Noarlunga area, changing grape vines for colour, sea including jetty, birds in the Onkaparinga river etc etc etc

Hi Fozzie and fellow state members, I stopped at Dundee's Wild Life Park at Murray Bridge last Thursday and was very good as i was the only person there at the time as it looked like it was going to rain but didn't.
Seem like a good spot and well set up with plenty of space with tables and BBQ's all under cover and free to use. Lots of creatures to photograph and well nice spot not overly priced at $8 Adult, $24 Family.

Just a sugestion for consideration at some stage if your looking to get out of town. Would post a link to my pics but smugmug doing maintanance, but if you look in the other dir on main page when its up you can see them there.
Ok smugmug up againg here's the link.

To: Big V and BBJ - some good ideas guys.

Probably best to let this post run for a week or so, to gather other members thoughts. Then settle on place and date: perhaps mid/late June (BTW: Queen's Birthday long weekend Jun 11-13).

In the absence of any other suggestions from registered and or members, this suggestion is really excellent, with plenty of variety. Well done Big V.

Now to get and idea of people interested and date/s. Just from my point of view, Saturday's are out. I would image other people would be the same boat. Therefore, Sunday 5th, 12th (Long Weekend - Queen's Birthday), 19, or 26th June. Would appreciate your comments as we are almost halfway through May.

Hi Marvin,

Seeing Big V suggested it, and you are friends, how about you converse and come up with a date, and I will follow. Although I am confined to Sunday's. Doesn't seem to be any other people interested :!: .

There may be some other people like myself that are just watching on, waiting for a date. I'm interested in coming along.

I'm interested - (home reno permitting of course  ) Sundays definitely better for me, and long weekend not good either. I don't mind travelling, so I'll be a starter for most venues!

Marvin, you seem like a good organiser  I second Fozzie's suggestion above, sort out a date with Big V (is it true s/he's a Canon user?), and I'll turn up.

Cheers

Daniel,

I am just trying to get people to put there views forward, stirring the pot sometimes works, please do not take it personally. It is important with any outting to get early input, and dates because it can take 2/3 weeks before you decide where and when. Unfortunately good weather is running out, which is :( . Please feel free to add your choice of date/s.

Edit: It looks like we have the following starters: Big V, Marvin, digitor, Daniel A and myself, with date to be set. This is looking very promising. Other Adelaide registered users and members, please join in for what will be a fun day, and family/ies more than welcome.

At this stage I can come on any of the dates previously mentioned (Sunday 5th, 12th, 19th, or 26th June).

Yes it is true that I have a Canon.. a 300D. I was thinking that the 29th of May might be a possibility, otherwise we will lose the colour of the leaves on the vines. They are fading fast. If that is too early, then the start of July

We welcome, Canon, Pentax etc users.

Sunday 29th May OK with me.

29th May is mostly OK with me, I won't be able to make it until midday or something like that. It might be better to leave it until mid afternoon anyway so the light is more favourable.

Is everything worth seeing in that area within walking distance or will we be driving around a bit?

OK - 29th is good for me. Big V will be a year older by then!!
Perhaps he can suggest somewhere to meet as it's sort of his area.
I would also prefer not too late as we have to drive back to the Riverland so perhaps early afternoon, around 1ish if that's OK with everyone?

Hi all,

Im interested in attending too :) However, my wife is due to give birth to our baby daughter 4/6, so I **should be okay** for the planned 29/5 date, but I may be a no show at the last minute ;)

Im happy with the suggested meet details so far though

Wish me luck!

Hi all,

Sorry for my 'no input'. I'm currently in Darwin with work and won't return until 2ndJun.

Go with the majority which appears to be the 29thMay. I'm confused, what is the location of the next shoot? Port Noarlunga or BBJ's Dundee Wildlife park suggestion?

My apologies for my absence.

Fozzie, I'm good to go almost any weekend (besides the next two obviously) so pm me or give me a call and we can catch up for a 'Micro Adelaide meet' :-)

One day I'll meet up for a proper Adelaide meet where work wont get in the way :-)

Have fun, and happy shooting.

Cheers,

Mick.

I have been communicating with Marvin and apparently 'Big V' lives nearby, and would be best to advise meeting place. In view Marvin has to leave around 1pm, and there may be others, perhaps 9-9:30am would be good. (Earlier would be fine by me, but may not suit others). Please feel free to add your comments re meeting time.

Oops, I didn't phrase my post very well. I don't have to leave at 1pm, I was suggesting we meet around 12 - 1pm. I don't mind leaving around 3:30, 4:00pm to come home as it's not too far. Any earlier and xorl can't make it.

You don't need to reschedule everything around me :) . Just pick a time that suits most people and I'll make it if I can. I'd recommend earlier in the morning or later in the day for light reasons. I probably won't be able to make an early morning start due to other commitments, but if it is better for other people that's cool with me.

Hi Marvin,

I really am looking forward to meeting the Adelaide contingent but my work keeps getting in the way unfortunately :-(

I am truly looking forward to the day we meet. I’m honestly not avoiding you :-)

Take Care and have a great day out.

I look forward to your images.

Have fun :-)

Mick.
P.S Darwin's nice, hot and 35 (ish) each day. It's hard to take :-) Better still, they have Coopers Pale Ale here. Yum! CYA soon.

Calling 'Big V' - Canon 300D user.

We need your assistance re meeting place, and what would be the best time for the area (am/pm) for other/s to consider before committing.

OK. Big V suggested 9am at the Port Noarlunga jetty as the tide will be out and we can get pictures of the reef.
Does this suit most people or do people prefer the afternoon? (sorry xorl!)

Marvin,

Can also make the afternoon, if that is what the majority want.

I do like to sleep in, so wouldn't say no to an afternoon time. But I'm happy to be there at 9.

Hello All, yes I hate mornings too but you have to use the light!! The meet will be at the Port Noarlunga Jetty, plenty of parking next to it and lots of good photo ops around that area. From there we can make our way to the river, where there is lots of birds as well as scenery. Other targets may be some of the old buildings near by as well as the vines and cliffs etc. All of these are within a 15 minute drive. Make sure you pack those wide angle lenses plus the big telephotos.. This time of the year, the lighting is not too harsh even as we approach noon, so people will be able to shoot for most of the day..

DanielA,

Congratulations on becoming a member.

As far as Adelaide registered users/members the figure would be around 20. We do have some members who live in the country and sometimes find it difficult to attend, due to distance and work commitments ie Marvin, robw25, and BBJ . Fortunatley all three have come to one or more meets so far. I haven't heard from everyone else, but then this may not be their scene.

I have just gone through the 'Memberlist', and these are the people I can identify as being from South Australia in order of joining:

Marvin, dankrause, Tony P, hillsrain, hame, beetleboy, fozzie, BBJ, digitor, wojtek, robw25, dciscool, Landy, Mark T, bouyant_clown, xorl, mickwit, Mandy, stadl, DanielA, mcamp, EnzyG, Big V and Ken = 24. BTW: does anybody want me to bring some Macro lenses for evaluation:

Nikon:

AF 60mm f/2.8 D
AF 105mm f/2.8 D
AF 200mm f/4 D IF-ED

http://www.maxwell.com.au/products/niko ... index.html

Sigma:

APO MACRO 150mm F2.8 EX DG HSM

Sorry fozzie, I know I said I'd try to make it to this one but I'm busy doing some wine bottle photography over the weekend. Strike that, I'm busy TRYING to get wine bottles to look good! Pesky things! The only bonus is I've been told I can sample the product if i get too frustrated.

I was down at Port Willunga about a month ago. It's a gorgeous place and not far from Port Noarlunga. I recommend checking it out for the sunset if anyone's around that long! Park next to the Star of Greece Restaurant and setup next to the remains of the old jetty, then sit back and enjoy the show!

Liam =] PS - hope y'all have fun, can't wait to see the pics

Thank you for checking in. If you get into trouble with shooting wine bottles, Chris Russell (sirhc55) is the man on the forum. Happy drinking or shooting whichever you accomplish :D .

On a serious note, I am sure you will succeed at both :D .

Good to hear from you :) .

Sometime down the track, we will be holding a 'Meet' close to or in the Riverland area to assist other country members. I will be raising this very issue at tomorrow's 'Meet', as I have been talking to robw25 from Whyallla during the week about 'Gluepot'. Apparently the best time to visit is between April and October.
