Yet another Melbournian

Postby ajax on Fri Dec 10, 2004 11:01 pm

Hi there,

This is a great site. I accidentally located it while scanning for info on D70. Just bought one yesterday from Myer Melbourne City store. Tag price 1999. But aftrer bit of convincing or price matching (as Myer prefers it) or haggling in common man's term - got it down. Have a question re flash. I am aware the best one to go is sb600 or 800, however Santa already gone now.

Have an old but perfect Yashica CS201 flash. Will it fry my new D70 ?

cheers,

Welcome Ajax - yes this is a great forum and great members.

You will love the D70 - not sure about the Yashica flash with the D70. You will probably get some answers tomorrow.

Cheers

Chris

Welcome to the forum - which has the serious stuff as well as humour. :D

Was your final price inclusive/exclusive of the $200 cash back?.

I can not find the thread at the moment re cash back in case you need it. I am half asleep, and suffering from a summer cold. I am sure someone will come along later and supply the information and you can go from there.

Cheers,
fozzie

G'day all,

Wow ! Really a warm welcome. Thanks guys. You'r right BBJ whichever state we come from - one thing is common D70. To answer fozzie's question, the final price after cashback A$1710 camera + 18-70 lens.

Also re the jd-online shop on ebay -- he operates from Glenhuntley. If you drop him a line he'll give you his phone#, address everything. Unfortunately I am not sure I can display it here without privacy etc. violation. But he very promptly returned my email. He's happy for local pickup, as I'am nervous to deposit money and wait, I rather prefer hand in the cash and get the goods.

I there another area in this forum where I can post my question re using Yashica cs201 flash with D70 ?

once again thanks for the welcome guys.

Hi alax, welcome to the forum.

I had a dealing with JD online, no problems at all. Went down there, very easy, pleasant young lady, inspected the lens (50mm f1.8 for $195) all good, I was happy.
