Melbourne Camera repairHi All, . I'm looking for a reputable repair shop to take my Nikon Coolpix 5700 to. The sensor appears is broken, when attempting to take a picture no image appears, and it looks much like the video signal is out of sync. Playback of previously taken images is fine, so I know it's not the LCD(s).
I woul apprecaite any suggestions. Thanks in advance, GB
Great news!
I found a service note (ok, saw a message on another forum) on the Nikon site regarding a 'recall' for several Nikon Coolpix cameras. Even though this camera is 5 years old, it is being repaired FREE OF CHARGE! (ok, Camera clinic is charging a $20 handling fee). As soon as I'm over the shock, I will be writing a letter to Michio Kariya-san President, CEO and COO of Nikon. I've grown so used to technology being treated by manufactures as 'disposable', that I never dreamed that a 5 year old camera would be repaired free of charge. Ironically, I was for a moment thinking of buying a Canon DLSR... Nikon has won my loyalty. http://support.nikontech.com/cgi-bin/nikonusa.cfg/php/enduser/std_adp.php?p_faqid=13688&p_created=1127751253&p_sid=gcuWMlIi&p_accessibility=0&p_lva=&p_sp=cF9zcmNoPSZwX3NvcnRfYnk9JnBfZ3JpZHNvcnQ9JnBfcm93X2NudD0yMTMmcF9wcm9kcz0xLDImcF9jYXRzPX5hbnl_JnBfcHY9Mi4yJnBfY3Y9MS5_YW55fiZwX3NlYXJjaF90eXBlPWFuc3dlcnMuc2VhcmNoX25sJnBfcGFnZT0x&p_li=&p_topview=1
