hello, as an action from the melbourne dinner last week, we agreed to call more mini meets, so, how about a meet under the timber shingle hut at Black Rock Beach, enter the path directly opposite 344 Beach Road Black ROck. If its raining we can meet under cover, and from there we can shoot lots of stuff. pleasing sandstone cliffs, seaside grasses, blue stone wall along waters edge, rocks in the water, sand, grass, lots to use. perhaps we can bring some portrait subjects too. bring your kit, maybe we use this to experiemnt with our flash guns too, as the sun sets across the water. then a coffee or a bite in Black Rock Shops, Bluff Road. how about a sunday 230pm? use the voting and we will see what suits... Location http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=344+beach+road+black+rock&sll=-37.981898,145.019274&sspn=0.001797,0.003626&ie=UTF8&ll=-37.981708,145.019225&spn=0.001797,0.003626&t=h&z=18&iwloc=addrpost your ideas here too!

i should be able to make it since it's about 5 minutes from where i live. If I do come, I'll bring the little gadgets for people to have a field test as well...and it works with both Canon, Nikon, Pentax, Fuji, etc

DOH! Well spotted. I have posted a correct calendar entry and I'll get Gary to remove the 23/5 item.

Nice to meet everyone, even before I've had a chance to chat with you all online... Makario (and others), the Cokin clone filters I had were from http://stores.ebay.com.au/LinkDelight-Photography-Aus-Shop. $11 each, and free postage too... I also bought from them an infrared remote control for my 450D, for all of $7. Cheers everyone. I wish I could have stayed around a bit longer. Looking forward to the next meetup. Now I have a favour to ask. With all you off-camera flash-freaks playing yesterday (yeah I'm jealous), who has a nice pic of me that I can use as an avatar?

Post it up... just make sure it won't scare my kids... Some funky colours going on here with the grey filter: And the blue one: Not particularly inspired pictures, but having fun with the 10-20mm lens nonetheless... And some documentary evidence of the soccer ball on it's way to Brazil...
