Matt, that was some heavy duty pond scum, but the ducks seemed to love it. Those ducks, lucky they taste good because they aren't too smart.
I have a macro of the scum, will post shortly.

It was a good time Chris, and I sold 7 more Pro Loop Straps to some very happy buyers. (4 left in Melbourne people, be quick

Pond scum.....
It is hard to believe this is sitting on top of the water, it looks like soil or rock or something else.

Great pics everyone. (mine are crap, but will attempt to PP them later and post).
Thanks for the strap, Greg, went out shooting later that afternoon, and was wonderful around my neck. Very comfy!!

I've got a few ok pictures. Couple of flowers, statues, and the city, food shots, and one that I was quite happy with of a little winged critter on a flower. The rest were fairly ordinary.

I like your shot of the building but I think you've fallen into a bit of a trap with the empty foreground. There are no rules in photography but empty foregrounds do weaken an otherwise good image, (most of the time).

Great shots. My personal favourite is the pond scum....
Meicw and I went and took some shots of the Bell Miners in the tree around the lakes afterwards. Saw some other birdies of interest but they were too far away.

Superb photo, Darryl!! Colours look very saturated! Did you do much PPing? Was it a macro lens?

Alex, the shot was taken with the 18-70MM DX. Probably should of adjusted the ISO to 400 or 800 and gone a faster shutter and a slightly smaller aperture (probably F8 would of been better).
PPing, yes I've updated the image details so that it shows what adjustments I made. Not putting down exact adjustments as I really can't remember, was a +/- 5-15 here and there. Curve was a slightly one sided shallow S. The overly saturated look is all flipfrog/dees fault
FYI, the subject is not a bee, it's a really tiny little winged insect that looks like a bee but is only about 5-6mm in length.

Thanks, Darryl. I didn't notice there was an insect till you mentioned it

Meicw,
These are superb images. Congratulations. I had meant to comment before now but the images seemed to disappear from the thread for a while.
Cheers,
Bruce
