Motorsport Photography WorkshopHi there Gang,
The past couple of weeks I have been researching the possibility of running a photography workshop down here at Baskerville raceway with the emphasis being on Motorsport (obviously) and shooting as an enthusiast . I have been speaking with one of the CAMS accredited photographers who does all the V8 supercar rounds. This person (who we will refer to as "X" for the time being has agreed to come on board and run the workshop. Some of the topics that has been put on the short list are as follows: - Camera settings / camera equipment / choosing equipment - Assessing the track, angles etc - Panning technique / Stopping the action - Dealing with the dreaded catch fence - When to pan and when to stop the action to convey a mood etc - Composing the shot - how to and what to look for, including utilising the background; - Common mistakes and how to avoid them; - Common sense and dealing with officialdom; - Awareness and anticipation of possible dangers: I am posting this to gauge interest and by all means add to what you would like to cover in a workshop. I have deliberatly kept details sketchy, as it is early days and a fixed date, time cost etc has not been tied down at this stage but at this stage could be early 2008. I hope this is of interest to some of you.
Hrmmm - been looking for an excuse to get to Tassie
Depending on timing and other details I'm a real possibility - from Feb next year onwards would be good, and away from the first week of the month Great idea! *** When getting there is half the fun! ***
Thats far enough way for it to be a possibility for me.
I would be extremely keen for something like this once I know more. Please count me on the interested list!!!! 2x D700, 2x D2h, lenses, speedlights, studio, pelican cases, tripods, monopods, patridges, pear trees etc etc
