EOI - Canberra trip to VIP.

Please refer to this thread and this exhibition.

As per Matt K's suggestion, I am canvassing the idea of a trip to Canberra, probably in early July.

I'm looking at a couple of different concepts.

1: if we can muster about 20 bodies willing to pay around $30-40 each, we should be able to charter a small bus to take us from Sydney to Canberra and back for a day trip.

For this to work, I'd need a commitment up front, and we'd probably want a minimum of about 15 bodies wanting to participate. The charter looks to cost around the 600 mark for a day trip, and I think somewhere between 15 and 20 bodies would be ideal.

Partners and family members welcome, of course, and Canberra members could join us at teh gallery, and we should be able to arrange a minishoot somewhere during the day as well.

The cost I'm quoting is charter cost only: gallery admission, meals etc would be extra.

2: If that doesn't work, we could always just arrange, for those who are interested, an overnight weekend visit to Canberra, with a visit to the gallery as the centerpiece for the trip.

For either of these, perhaps interstate members might fly up for the day or weekend, and we could make a real fun trip of the whole thing.

First up, who is interested in what?

For the bus charter, I need numbers ... otherwise, just an EOI.

Hi Gary,

so nice to see that there appears to be interest.
I myself will be overseas fom 21 June to 27 July - so its a pity that I cannot join you guys. BTW there are also always photographic exhibitions in the Portrait Gallery down by the lake and also Old Parliament House.
These locations aren't far apart from each other; they may make your trip even more worthwhile.

Regards,
Christian

I'll be there with keen interest, but i don't need transport. Canberra is closer than Sydney.

I'm expressing interest. With family down there I would make my own way.

Will be in Canberra this weekend so might get out there to have a look

Be nice to meet up with some of the Sydney folk and play with new toys! :D

Depending on numbers (up to say 12) I would be happy to host a BBQ (in my appartment) for the visitors. Otherwise we can meet up for a meal somewhere else.

Judging by the responses thus far, we seem to have interest in doing this, but not for a bus trip.

SHould we move to the next stage and look for a date?

Steve,

Sorry; no.

I'm thinking July 7 ATM, given the Prime Shoot for the following weekend. I need to see if I can drag Lindy away for a few days; I think she'll be having a few days off around that time, and if we can do a Friday/Saturday in Canberra, that will let me get back home in time todomy radio show on Sunday night.

I'd be interested in heading (back) to Canberra for the exhibition / weekend and to meet up again with the canberra members.

Doesn't look like I can make it for either the weekends 7-8 or 14-15 July though.

Should the date be a weekend end up being a date other than the weekends above, and the bus thing doesn't happen... I can offer 3 seats return Sydney-Canberra (with experienced navigation...) :D
