Lexar 1000x CF cards....? Do you use them? Should I buy one?

Postby haring on Sun Oct 14, 2012 5:55 am

I would like to buy the Lexar Professional 1000x 16 GB cards. (initially, I wanted to get the 600x versions but they are no longer available.) I have looked at the reviews and lot of people are complaining about the fact that these new 1000x cards fail. I am a wedding photographer and can't afford to lose photos...although I always back up the pictures in the dual slot.

My question: Have you ever used the Lexar Professional 1000x 16Gb series cards and what your experience is....?

As it happens, I have one sitting in a D800e right now, and it seems to be working fine.

It spent some time in a 5D Mk 3 a few weeks ago, and it worked fine in that body as well, but it didn't seem to be quite as happy in the D300.

That said, my cards of choice are Sandisk, rather than Lexar. They just work.

I have never used the Lexar 1000x but they should be fine. I am still running Extreme IV and Extreme Ducati cards (D300/D700) but I know a lot of people who swear by the Extreme Pro.

LOL! Do you keep them in the garage next to your Ferrari?

No, not quite; the Ferrari made way for the Mercedes. Much more practical.
