Samyang 14mm F2.8 Lenses

Postby zafra52 on Tue May 14, 2013 7:35 pm

Anybody has a Samyang 14mm F2.8 Lens or has even
heard of it? I want a wide lens for a Canon 5d that
provides a reasonable image quality and doesn't cost
the earth.

Yep I have heard very good things about this lens, and have even handled it a few times (branded as Rokinon). Here are some review links:

I've heard of it - MF only of course but optically apparently very good

Thank you for your help. I had read some
reviewsm but the above are by far the most
comprehensive and the picture samples
quite impressive.

I have found that these two are often as unbiased and systematic as I can find, so if they have a review I tend to lean on them to get a feel for a lens

I have nothing but praise for Samyang or Rokinon or a few other names too. I have the 7.5mm and it is a lens that I use very often.

Nothing brilliant here but it does show what the lens can do:

Point of order, Chris, but it shows what the photographer can do. These are all nice images, well controlled, focused, etc., but unless I've missed something, these would have been your doing, with the lens being a part of your toolkit?

(And yes, me too :) )
