New tripod - I'm happyAfter reading all the discussions here about tripods over the past few months, I realised I should update by cheap Velbon hand-me-down. However, I really couldn't justify the multi-hundred dollar Gitzo, Manfrotto etc rigs, especially as I don't use a tripod very often (although that may now change). But yesterday I received my new Dynatran carbon-fibre tripod which I won on an Ebay auction. I realise that you nearly always get what you pay for, but I figured its <$200 price tag was worth taking a chance on, and I must say I'm impressed with its quality and features. I've never used a ball-head tripod before, so I'm looking forward to seeing how it goes.
Just thought I'd mention this as a possible option for those who, like me, don't require a top quality, top price, tripod. Frank My photo gallery: http://www.frankalvaro.net
