Third party remote for Nikon & Canon

Hi All,
New third party products for all Canon and Nikon SLR and DSLR
Adidt M1 (N1) = Nikon MC-30
Adidt M1 (C1) = Canon RS-60E3
I'm going to bring them in to our stock soon all the remote products, which will work on Canon + Nikon bodies, it can be substitued the genuine brand one.

No, BO can be changed subjects to the useable of the new products.

I have the Adidt M1 for my Canon (got it off eBay for approx ~20 incl postage, better than $60 for the Canon original). It is quite good quality and I have no doubts it is just as good as the Canon original.

For me it is just an interim thing until I buy the fancy timer one.

Your EOS has the N3 remote connector. The E3 connector on the one Birddog's talking about is for the 300D and 350D bodies. Just so no-one gets a nasty surprise!

Having taken my Canon RS-80N3 apart (after dropping it in a tidepool! ) I can tell you that there's nothing in there other than a 2-stage switch. As long as Adidt got that right there's not much to get wrong.

Fair enough. I now have the RS-80N3 and the TC-80N3 (the fancy timer one) but I do still use the RS one. It's much smaller, and doesn't take up much room in a pocket of my vest (so I'm unlikely to go anywhere without it). I'll grab the TC unit if I'm heading off for dusk/dawn/night photos though. Everything's a compromise...

For the 300D/350D users, there's no TC-*E3 remote. You'd have to either cut off the N3 plug and replace it with an E3 plug (which you can buy at Dick Smith/etc) or get an adapter. I've got an N3 socket (a spare part for a body) in my box of tricks and have been considering making an adapter if I get a 350D for any reason...

Dave, you are totally right. My apologies, and well spotted. I should have known better, as I used to have the E3 for my film body and was annoyed that Canon made me get a new remote for my new digital body!

Exactly. The finish is maybe not as flash, but the contact works fine.

Yup. My thought was that with some long exposures I'm always fiddling with the exposure time - but keeping aperature fixed. Therefore I'm better using the TC and adjusting time on that, rather than forever twisting dials on the 20D.
