Does anyone on the forum have one of these lenses by chance? Any opinions etc on the lense and quality of captures?

Fantastic lens although I have the Canon version :) Canon don't make any zooms in that range at f2.8 so there was no choice really. I'll be using it this afternoon with my 1.4x so will post some pics when I process them in the next day or so.

Thanks Petal666, I look forward to seeing some of your images. Sounds you are very pleased with it anyway.

These were shot with the 120-300 + 1.4x tele. Nothing was done other than resize, no sharpening. When you consider that the Canons are a lot softer than the Nikons straight out of the camera, it shows what a great lens this is.

How long have you had this lens? Is there any rear lens element fogging problem with this lens (or the related 100-300 F4)? I'm not sure if this is only a real problem in the tropics?

Regards

Horst

I've had it for more than a year. I've not heard of the fogging issue and definitely don't have that problem.

Thanks for that! The images really look bright and sharp, I would definitely be happy with this quality.
