Lens Test on Sydney Harbour

Postby LostDingo on Sun Jan 01, 2006 9:11 am

I decided to have a wander and a night shoot on my own with my new lens. Not being the most intelligent person I also decided to go on the Eve of New Years Eve :!:

Anyway I did manage to get on Mrs. MacQuaries Chair although much of the access at the time was very limited and security was everywhere.

On with the lens......I received as a very suprising Christmas pressie a 70-200 vr lens.....very suprised and have wanted once since it's inception.

The photos below are from this and I couldn't be happier with the results. The night was very humid and you may notice the thick/wet and humidity laiden clouds which moved in quickly. The clouds however did add for interesting reflective lighting.

Nice and sharp! Great series of shots.

Out of interest was this handheld or tripod?

LostDingo - I was enjoying the thread, but unfortunately for me and may

be others, PixSpot.com must be down :(

Moving on, you will enjoy your new lens, 'FAST' and 'SHARP' :)

LostDingo - still no results for me :(

First one - 'No image to display'

Second one - 'The page cannot be found'

Must be the heat or heat + humidity :!:

Sorry Paul, still no workie  First link takes me to Pixspot, but shows a blank square with "No image to display" Seconde link you've got an extra [/url] at the end, but if I remove that and use it I still get the go to pixspot graphic. This is all very weird that it works for some, but not for others. I'm wondering if Pixspot may have banned hotlinking for certain ip addresses only

All I did to see them on my mac was right click (or option+click with single button) and 'copy image address'. Then paste into new window, voila.

By the way, these are fantastic pictures. Really high quality.

Are you open to selling your images? There is a chance that I may need an image of this type in the coming months. A small chance but a chance nonetheless.

The architecture of the Opera house is fascinating, Sydney harbour is so photogenic... Like the second one with the modern lines of the Opera house sails posed against the old bridge, terrific color...

A bit frustrating with pixspot. I had to right click on the url lostdingo gave us, go down to properties and copy/paste the image url into a new window to see that great photo of the operahouse and bridge but then it didn't work for the first url. Who knows? :? I've just joined 'flickr' i'll see how that goes later.

I tried that too chris and I also couldn't find Lostdingo's gallery :?
