Just arrived today for evaluation in 77mm.

Very nice packaging plus they're very interesting products, my thoughts. Will use them to shoot at the Xmas Dinner Party as evaluation.

I'll have them for Onyx playing around and we will post review later.

I notice that the warming Expodisc doesn't make the little kiddie look any less snippy.

Wow, there's already expectation for me to come up with "superb" results at the xmas dinner, or at least with respect to white balance, due to this expodisc!

Actually, I think something like that would suit people like me - who shoot predominantly Jpegs. Not having the luxury of selecting gray point post process to adjust and perfect white balance. LOL Greg - the website's warming sample shots sure could do with a rethink.

I have one of these, and I find the ability to preset WB using Expodisc is excellent.
The process doesn't take long, and I have been very happy with results so far.
I have tended not to use it with flash- the Nikon WB setting for flash seems fine, although Expodisc could be valuable where you have a mixture of light sources.

It's nice to have another member of this forum tested and play with it.
Their new ExpoDisc Digital Warm Balance Filter is quite nice too. I believe you have the old version and it was with plastic rim, the new products come with metal rim and with proper packaging. I like them very much, played around last night, will put them in a real test drive this coming Friday night at the Xmas Party.

Yes Birdy mine is all plastic.
I agree with the packaging & instructions - all very professional.
I find one of the big advantages is that it makes me think about WB. Sometimes I used to forget about it & even though you can recover in Nikon Capture, it's probably better to start properly.

The results of the ExpoDisc based on your samples are very impressive. I'm sooo tempted.

Keep in mind, the $2.95 pringles lid does almost the same function, for a whole lot less. I think JordanP had some samples comparing pringles to expodisc. Keep an eye out, maybe he'll post those.

My remarks:
Auto WB works only in the range from 3000K to whatever (it's in the manual, I forget... and I'm drunk), and tungsten lighting falls outside of the range. Setting the correct WB (incandesent in this case) got a close enough result. For some, close enough would be good enough... and without the other pics to compare with, I would personally be very happy with the incandesent results. But for those striving for perfection, the expodisc is superb. However, I'm not convinced of its merits for RAW shooters. You could always select a grey point with NEFs, unless you have a mixture of lighting in which case the expodisc is indispensible. BTW, the sample shots were taken under halogen lighting - not too different from ordinary lightbulbs in terms of light colour output.
