I have just ordered one of these flat panel flashes from the UK and will post some pics when it arrives. Should be great for macro.
You can see it at:

There's a bit at the bottom of that review that mentions camera's with "pre-flash"..does the D70 not use pre-flash for iTTL?
I may be wrong, I just remember reading it somewhere!!

It comes with an IR filter that you can place over the inbuilt flash which will then activate the 57. . .

The Magneflash delivery story.
Found on eBay - asked seller question (he was in Cary North Carolina). Had a flow of emails from me to him and back. In one email told the person (Bill Stokes) that, out of interest I had looked up Cary NC. Not only did I find this sellers full name but his address and a map of the street he lives in!!!
Made eBay purchase on 20th December and paid by PayPal. Total amount was $89US for unit and $15US delivery charge. Bill informed me that the unit would be sent directly from the manufacturer in the UK - Louden Photographic.
Unit arrived by mail 29th Dec. I am amazed that it arrived so quickly considering the time of year. From order to delivery 9 days of which 4 were holidays!
Will try the unit out in the next few days and post some pics.
So far, I have had not one bad eBay experience.
