Hi Guys,

Been shopping around for a little while now looking for polarisers for my new lenses. I don't really want to cut any corners at all here because the lenses are of high quality, and don't want there to be any weak links in the chain.

So far I've been told that the Hoya Pro 77mm CPol is good for the 12-24. Anyone used this? If so how did they find it?

Not sure what would go well on the 1.4 yet. Anyone have any ideas?

Also do you need special filters for black and white use?

i have the ultra thin version of the hya CPL it's good but it's annoying too since it doesn't have a front filter thread, you can't put a lens cap on it, it comes supplied with a rubber one but that's no good bvecause it marks the glass when on the filter, the ultra thin version costs more than $200 too

on the 85 i use the nikon CPL filter it has a front thread so the nikon lens cap works, this CPL filter costs much more but it's worth it,it's also vey thin causes no vignettign on a WA lens and has a smother rotation than the hoya

I have it same as the B+W MRC both with both side threaded and single side threaded.
If you place the Hoya and B+W against the bright lighting, you'll see they are a big difference in colour in each brand filter.
They're top quality filters, no vignetting on the 12-24 but they're expensive.

B+W and Singh Ray filters both excellent, as Birdy says you hold these up to the light against others and you will see the differences

Always purchase the best you can afford, HOYA's are not bad and I have a CP Hoya but B+W and Singh Ray's are better and will show in your treasured captures.
