Hi there,

Would just like to know if anyone has any ideas whats the difference between the matte screen and glossy screen which MACpowerbook is now offering as a non-cost option.

I know that previous models use the matte screen. Is there a difference in glare? Can someone please clarify as I'm about to order one.

Any respond is very much appreciated. :D

I didn't know it was an option. From the Apple website I gather it's glossy-only. Which I think is a shame for graphics work, but as I do my main editing with an external monitor at the moment (24" LCD attached to a 12" PowerBook) I'm prepared to put up with it for the other advantages of the MacBook (once Lightroom Beta 3 is out...).

In my experience, glossy screens do increase the contrast, but only if you have a black background behind you and you're wearing a black balaclava...
