With a colour screen and 8GB storage, I bought the Microphoto because it was a better priced alternative to the iPod range.

Pros:
- Price ($283 from http://www.simline.com.au)
- Ability to use any computer to download music and data files. Not tied to one computer with iTunes like iPod.
- Up to 4GB can be used to store data
- 15hrs playback time
Cons:
- Over sensitive scroll wheel can be difficult to get used to
- Unable to play music and display photos at same time
- Photos can only be viewed if they were loaded onto the player using Windows Media or similar program. Any files in the 'data' section of the player (ie dragged across in Windows Explorer) can't be accessed by player.
- No AC charger in box (extra $50)
- Counter intuitive playlist function
Despite the cons listed here, they are mostly minor gripes and I'm very happy with the purchase so far. I'll primarily use it as a music and podcast player with 1GB or so allocated for data files.
