Four sizes from pbase - please vote to which renders best in your opinion.

Edit: If you are going to trouble yourself to look at this, pleeeez cast a vote or this is a waste of time!!!

Exactly the same photo as the zenfolio test

A comment - I chose large because it fit vertically on my Dell 24" widescreen LCD at work.

I'll also point out that the very large exceeds the forums max 800 pixels guidelines (refer the FAQ)

Hi Peter, I was aware I would be breaking the rules but thought I could get away with it for the equipment test... I did put in a dialup warning, I'll re-edit to state oversize images as well.

I understood that Justin hence why I didn't say this post was in breach. I was just pointing out that it would be unsuitbale for ongoing use.

Rules are meant to be broken (mostly) where there is a strong case. It makes sense because of what you are doing here to exceed the guidelines (it is a test FFS). Likewise if there were 8 sizes I'd have no problems despite the 4 images guideline. I rpobably should have been less succinct

Yeah absolutely and there-in lyeth the lesson - If Large goes Large in the polling then the next test is to process the picture differently so that the image is true to your personal vision, which is what comes out of your processing, rather than a picture service algorithms interpretation.

Sorry - succinct is fine I did read it that way but just thought I could have done more to highlight this was a break-the-rules post .

Group hug time

A tip: Its not a good idea to have images of the latter size on PBase because they are easily nicked - but I am sure you already knew that :)

Cheers
Sheila

Hi Sheila yes I understand and have recently started uploading at max length 800 and at a slightly lower jpg quality (not enough to affect CRT / LCD viewing).

I do need to get into the habit of sticking a frame and copyright or even just a copyright on my images though.

something like DXO automatically adding a frame and sig would be a good thing

You can do that with iMatch - in a batch resize, downsample, create a frame, add a caption & copyright. It will be in my next Chimp article

Looking forward to reading that. :)
