3 questions RE KB-3 Ballhead

1. Why does the KB-3 have 2 dials that lock in the movement of the actual ball?

the two knobs on the left and right are the ones i am talking about

2. Why isn't the vertical position not truly vertical. when i put it in this position it isn't straight or perpendicular with the ground. the bubble level on the tripod shows it's dead flat.

3. I could not screw the 3 pins from the C-298 into the bottom of the KB-3. the screws appear to be too big. is there anything i need to do to get them in?

Thanks guys
Laurie

Laurie, not a Benro owner so can't be sure, but I am guessing one for gross adjustment and one for fine adjustment. Normal procedure is slacken the fine right off, adjust the gross adjustment till it just holds the weight of camera and lens, then move to final position and tighten fine adjustment. There is less creep with the fine adjustment. Usually large is gross adjustment, small fine.

2) Virtual position - sounds like something I would do with a virtual girl in cyberspace. Not quite sure what that is.

3) Don't know

1 - One locks and unlocks, the other controls the amount of drag in the movement.

2. No idea

1. as above

2. that's the reason I use an L-bracket and spirit level, then I'm guaranteed that the cameral is truly vertical. Not sure that the vertical position on the ball-head is "guaranteed" to be truly vertical

3. Bunnnings

That kb-3 is a one big ballhead, certainly compared to my kb-1

Cheers,

André

I have an alan key to remove or tighten the screws. do i need to remove them from the bottom of the KB-3? do they even come out?
i may as well lock the KB-3 in place, dont see when i wouldnt use it.
