Both interesting. Mark I never realised you could get large format kits

Both of them require you to buy something... the classic Dirkon does not.

BTW, Australian Geographics are currently selling a pin-hole camera kit for self-assembly, and you have to poke the pin-hole yourself. It could easily be modified to take interchangeable pin-holes. The camera records in square format on 35mm film. Should have bought one, maybe next time...

Cheers
Steffen.

Don't laugh, the optimal diameter of the hole depends on its distance to the film plane as well as the subject, and also on the wave length of the light. Hence, you might want to have different pin holes for close-ups, scenic or IR shots  One might also experiment with larger sizes (for better f-stops) to see how far one can go without compromising the result too much.

When I was young I tried to make a 3-blade shutter-like adjustable pin hole from 3 razor blades. Unfortunately, I couldn't figure out a way of drilling holes into the blades, they're hardened to buggery...

Cheers
Steffen.
