Nikon 18-200mm VR review

Pretty good review, and confirms something that I had suspected but never really tested, which was that it suffered "gooey" performance around 135mm mark but sharpens back up at 200mm. This has captured a large percentage of my favourite photos to date, while its a jack of all trades master of none, it certain gives you the freedom to get the shot, without the hassle of weight of extra lenses. In Egypt I think I shot 95% of my shots with the 18-200VR, and only a handful with the 50mm or 10-20mm.

Yes, I think I agree with the reviewer in that a zoom covering this range is going to have compromises somewhere.

I have just bought one, but haven't yet used it. The 17-55mm DX is my main lens because it is as sharp as - I bought the 18-200mm as a travel lens or walk-around lens.
