You might have known that I bought a Canon A1 recently. Well, my aunt bought what she thought was a crap camera at a News Ltd. internal sale of their gear as they shifted to completely digital... and it turned out that what she got for 5 bucks wasn't all that bad. In fact, it was everything but.
She got...
...a 35-70 f2.8 push-pull built like a frickin' tank. Feels like the 28-70.
...a Nikon FE in surprisingly good condition, as well as a 24mm f2.8 with cracked rear-glass that only shows up at around f16 or higher, and an MD-12 battery grip that we can't seem to get working.
For five bucks.
So now, my classic cameras look a little like this:
