Hey guys, I am a new D70 owner. Can anyone suggest a good lense for portraits?

A popular choice could be a 50/1.4 or 85/1.4 ($$$$)

Welcome Callie,
As MattC mentioned, those lenses are top notch for portrait.
Apart from those, economical and less cash for your lust are the 50/1.8 and 85/1.8.
I still recommend the first two lenses.

Mr Poon is probably what you could call a preferred supplier on this forum and offers better prices than anything you will ever find in Australia, perhaps opening up a wider range of choices if money is an issue.
